• Completed a cumulative service of two years in roles directly supporting special operations

Design

The medal is made of antique silver-nickel alloy. The obverse features the Federation Star overlayed with the AFP Platypus, surrounded by the words 'AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE OPERATIONS MEDAL'. The reverse is plain.

Ribbon

The accompanying ribbon features stripes of various shades of blue, white, and gold.
